  • This screening encompasses a 15-20 minute assessment covering articulation, receptive language (comprehension of spoken language), expressive language (ability to convey needs and desires), voice quality, and fluency. Following the screening, I'll provide recommendations regarding the necessity and type of further evaluation. If an evaluation is recommended the cost of the screening will be applied to the evaluation cost.

  • This process involves administering both a speech and a language assessment, which may require splitting the sessions over two or more depending on your child's tolerance. The total duration can vary from 75 to 90 minutes. Preliminary results will be provided at each session, and within one week, a formal write-up with a Plan of Care, including goals, will be completed.

  • One-hour sessions are typically suitable for children who can handle longer therapy sessions, including middle school and high school students. Each session focuses on the areas identified during the evaluation or those related to speech, language, or cognition, as noted by the family or caregivers. While it’s encouraged for family members to participate in therapy sessions with older children, it’s not mandatory. During the last 5-10 minutes of each session, I discuss with parents/guardians and the child what was addressed, why it was addressed, and provide suggestions for reinforcing skills at home.

  • Assess the aquation and use of developmentally appropriate speech sounds for the child’s age. This usually takes between 20-45 minutes to complete. Preliminary results will be given at that time of service and a full write up and Plan of Care including goals will be done within a week’s time.

  • This evaluation assesses the child’s disfluency or ‘stuttering.’ The evaluation takes approximately 30 minutes, however the results need to be analyzed to determine the child’s severity of disfluency. You will receive a call or text within 2 days after to inform you of the stuttering severity and a write up with a Plan of Care with goals within a week’s time.

  • If your child has had a speech/language evaluation within the past year from school or another private practice, they most likely do not need another evaluation. If they come with an Individualized Education Program (IEP) or a Plan of Care (POC) already in place for review and setup as a new client, the fee will be less than if a Plan of Care has to be developed.

  • Assessing both receptive (comprehension) and expressive (communication) language skills involves evaluating the ability to understand spoken language and use it effectively. This assessment typically lasts 60 minutes or longer. Preliminary results will be provided during the session, with a comprehensive write-up and Plan of Care, including goals, completed within one week.

  • Each session targets the areas identified during the evaluation and/or areas related to speech, language, or cognition as noted by the family or caregivers. It is STRONGLY encouraged that family members attend each session to learn the strategies and techniques used by the clinician to achieve desired outcomes. I will explain the rationale and methods behind these strategies and will encourage family members and caregivers to practice them while the therapist is present

  • During these consultations, I work closely with parents to discuss their child's speech and language strengths and areas of concern. Together, we explore strategies and techniques that can be integrated into everyday routines to enhance communication skills at home. After our consultation, I will provide you with guided educational material to help support these efforts.
